The Visualization of Global Population

A new exhibit at the Tate Modern in London shows a unique way of visualizing the populations of a few major global cities. Here is a nice review of the exhibition and exploration into the sculptural representation of population density.

Packaging design of the modern era.

I don't know if you have noticed, but most packaging design these days is just terrible. All of the type must be in "3-D" letters. Just look at the progression of cereal boxes - it is just ridiculous. Anyway, here is an amazing Flickr set of packaging from the golden era of packaging design. I just love the flat colours and whimsical illustrations!

This happened to one of the photos I was editing today. What I love about it is the fact that there is NO WAY I could ever come up with this color pattern on my own, but it simply amazes me.

Playing around in the Bathroom

Good friend, Frank Chimero, sent this to me. Marc Johns draws fun little illustrations on paper towels in the dispenser in public restrooms. A nice little tie-in with my collection of hand dryers from around the world.

Dum De Dum

My good friend Brandon Goodwin and I created a very short film with the last seven feet of Super 8mm film he had left over from a wedding that he had shot. We had no script, no storyboards, and no idea what we were doing. So, we created a staring contest film. Enjoy!
