Hand Written Letter Project

The hand.written.letter.project. is a self-initiated project that Craig Oldham undertook after a conversation about how personal a letter can be: a fact that he feels is currently drowning in a tide of depersonalisation, junk mail and automated correspondence. - Via SwissMiss

I'm not really a fan of comics, but Frank helped me realize how much of a jerk Superman can be...

Go Around Twice If You're Happy

Here is a nice video of people having some fun with street signs to knock people out of their daily driving in Dubai. Have I ever mentioned that I am quite obsessed with the craziness that is Dubai?

Post in the category of "Why Didn't I Think of That?!" - the Brush & Rinse Toothbrush from Amron Experimental creates a drinking fountain out of the back of the toothbrush. I love things like this!

New Posters Available Online!

My newest series of letterpressed posters is now available for purchase from the fine folks at Keep Calm! Each of the three new posters are lovingly hand-letterpressed by me, so each one is unique. Any of the posters (or even better, all of them) would make great Christmas presents, if I can say so myself!

You can see the posters behind-the-scenes on my Flickr. Enjoy!

Typography Films on the Internet

Here is a post for my Advanced Type class and anyone else that is a lover of type! As new films come out, I will update this post.

Typography Films
+ Really gorgeous organic motion graphics involving type.
+ A person's life in type: The title sequence for Typophile Film Fest 4 done by students and faculty of BYU.
+ The great Abbott and Costello skit "Who's On First?" - just ignore the incorrect apostrophes...
+ And another nice abstract typography film.
+ Here is a very well done Typographics film with quotes from Jeff Keedy & Ellen Lupton.
+ Hoefler & Frere-Jones talk to CBS about typefaces.
+ Paula Scher shows off her Moleskine Journal filled with great hand-drawn type.

Letterpress Films
+ Here is a really well done video about Firefly Press. This explains why letterpress is in my blood.
+ Another letterpress video featuring a good friend of mine, Philip Cheaney.
+ Here is a nice video from the London College of Printing.
+ Amos Kennedy prints with great style and flair.

Music Video Created with 1979 Apple II Plus

This great video for Grandaddy's "Jed's Other Poem" is entirely created with a 1979 Apple II Plus with 48K of RAM. Which is insane because I am fairly sure that your cell phone has at least 500 times that much memory. It was created by this chap.

New Letterpressed Poster Series!

I am happy to announce a new Letterpressed Poster Series that I have been feverishly working on the past few weeks.

I am printing a series of maxims/phrases/idioms that are of interest to me. No "big art concept" behind these prints, just fun phrases that are lovingly hand letterpressed for you!

They will soon go on sale at Keep Calm - so keep an eye out for that!

New Guinness Advert

Oh man I have always wanted to do this!

The new (and most expensive ever) advertisement for Guinness shows multiple objects toppling over onto each other in a remote Argentinian village. Toppling items included: 6,000 dominoes, 10,000 books, 400 tires, 75 mirrors, 50 fridges, 45 wardrobes and 6 cars. It is directed by Nicolai Fuglsig of Sony Bravia "Balls" fame.

You can read an article about it here.

And you can watch it on YouTube here.

My New Business Cards

My last business cards had the wrong address, wrong email address, wrong website address, wrong phone number - really the only thing that was accurate was my name. So I finally have completed my new business cards and they have accurate information on them! You can find them as a set on my Flickr account.
